I will probably get a lot of ridicule from my non-existent readers. But I'm gonna post this anyway. Why? Because I'm a cynical excuse for a human that doesn't give a fruk. Let's go.
I was thinking about life and death again while on the toilet and my lazy mind came across the topic of those who are praised for losing their life saving someone and those that are ridiculed for saving there own life while someone else dies.
For example, if there was a burning house and here were two people trapped, and only one came out, he/she would be ridiculed for not helping the other that was inside.
I frankly think that kind of response is stupid.
I'm not degrading people who do give up their lives to save people, I'm not trying to take away anything from them. But that kind of response for the total opposite is preposterous. There is nothing wrong with wanting to live.
I think people only condemn that kind of behaviour because deep down, we know we would do the same as them. We are all selfish by nature, and who cares about other people's lives. But having the same kind of behaviour is boring, so to make us feel better about ourselves, we ridicule others that would do the exact same, because we can't bear to confess ourselves just as 'wrong'.
I see those that risk their lives to save someone and then die as a result and they are labelled a hero, but then those that failed to save lives and survived are seen as cowards. What~?
Those that died, respect to you. Those that lived, thank you for trying.
That too much to ask?
