You know when you have a fantastic idea in your head and you plan it out and it looks so beautiful and you are so proud and you tuck it away to put it on a blog later on in the day when you have access to a computer, but then you sit down and you find that this brilliant thought is gone?
Yeah, I get that a lot. So sorry if my posts are slow non-existent readers.
Everyday thoughts I have go here. If you related, I hope you had a good 2 minutes reading them

A post for ani university students in my non-existant audience
Be sure to keep hold of all assignments and handed-back marks of all work you did during your course. Because, when it comes time for marking, and you realized you didn't pass your course because the teachers made an error in forgetting to actually officially mark the assignment off and not follow you up on it, you may have to stay up til 1 am searching for assignments or doing them all over again because you completely scrapped them.

About Perverted Scammers
So I rarely talk about LARGE things in my life, if you consider getting your first sleazebag call a large thing. It was a long time ago, but I remembered it recently and now instead of disgust, I feel pity and slight curiosity. So I just have to ask, whether there are actual sleazebags out there or there are people who can help me understand all the stupidness they go through just so they can get aroused.
When I think about all the options they go through, I just have to wonder why they thought making a sleazebag call had the higher probability of being successful and safe. I mean, you could've gone to a movie store that is twenty minutes away by car and rented an R-rated porn movie legally for $10 a month. Or, even better, you can go on the FREAKING INTERNET and look up cheap porn clips, for free from girls that are more likely to be consenting to things like this than a stranger on the other side of a phone.
Now, maybe you don't have the money for a movie. But I'm pretty sure all your other sleazebag friends do, and DON'T tell me that they wouldn't want to spend ten dollars for something like this, because I can't see any other kind of friends except those like yourself, so I'm sure they would be ecstatic to go and borrow porn DVD if not for you, for themselves.
Maybe you don't have internet access, well in that case, PICK UP A BOOK. And again, USE A FRIEND FROM THE ABOVE.
I just can't understand just how unintelligent you are that you thought, whether drunk or sober, you thought that compared to all of the above, hacking into the computer system, stealing someone's personal details, committing fraud, attempting sexual harassment to some random stranger and RISKING JAIL was much more successful! I can't! In no way shape, form or angle I look at this it doesn't make sense! WHY? WHY?! There are better ways of getting aroused! Imagine, watch a movie, read a doujin if you are an anime lover, buy toys to help you, just keep it legal and to yourself! GEEZ!

Well I take that back...
My non-existent readers, do you remember that post about me not missing my university but I will remember it? I wrote that thinking once I finish my course I'll be out of here.
Well nope~. I'm still going to be studying the next year. Bleh.
Life just throws surprises at you.

Self Defence
Lately, I've been in conflict about what to do in self defence if someone broke into my house. I was advised to just hold a weapon and tell the intruder to leave, as if they are coming into the house just to steal stuff, they will usually chicken out and leave.
But what if they retaliate? What do I do then?
I know I should fight back, I don't want to die, but how much should I fight back. I want to live but I don't want a dead body on my hands.
I've contemplated on possible weapons. Knives? Threatening, but nope. Heavy pan? Yeah, but what if I hit them too hard? Head them hard enough on the head and they'll be dead instead of unconscious. Hands? Pft, I'm a weakling...
I was giving this box with a button that if I press it, it will make a loud noise and supposedly scare the intruder off. Yeah...but I need a second option.
So, nonexistant readers, what would you use as a weapon without commiting murder? Any suggestions?

Of being open and opening
I was reading a fanfiction some day before and I came across this issue. Two characters were in an argument. One was saying how the other was so evasive and never answered anything directly or even at all. The other took offence and replied by saying that it was the fault of the other for not asking the right questions.
So in the end, I wondered. Who is the one at fault here? Should it be the fault of the one asking for not trying harder to open the other up, or is the fault of the one hiding for not being open?
Maybe it's both?

Use of Multiple Social Medias
I am to search up a library site which uses multiple social medias and talk about the information posted in each; what is posted, is it the same, what is it used for.
So I found Melbourne Library:
http://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/melbournelibraryservice/Pages/MelbourneLibraryService.aspx
The use Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.
Taking a stroll through them all, Facebook and Twitter are similar to each other. As both as text based social medias, Facebook and Twitter post advertisements for their library of opening hours and events that are happening at their organisation. As Twitter has a character count, they are much more brief and to the point there. Facebook is much more detailed coupled with a larger character count and pictures. However, there is no difference in information.
However, Facebook has a much more personal use from their staff members, as I view some posts about slow internet or simply saying hello. Twitter is purely advertisements and is more informative whereas Facebook is much more casual. If you actually wanted to communicate with the library community, you'd best do that on Facebook.
Therefore, using both, the library can reach out to a larger audience, Twitter mainly to inform and Facebook to connect with their patrons.
Flickr stands out from the rest, partly because it's barely seen. Flickr is where the library community posts images and images only on progress or events at the library. Currently they are posting construction images of a new floor they are building. Flickr is if you want a more inside look at new happens in the library that is a bit more personal than official and formal events.

To all my non-existent readers
I realize I haven't been posting many posts about life in general lately. I'm sorry for all those that miss my cynicism but university is nearing an end and I am racing to finish all my projects in time, leaving no room in my pessimistic brain for deep philosophical thoughts. So I'll mostly likely not be here for the rest of the year and any posts that so come on are going to be strictly school related. So move along lovelies, and I'll see you all soon.

Found a dying rose the other day
The stem was cut and the rose was drying out since it was a bud and not bloomed enough to turn brown.
I found it rather beautiful so I cut the bud and took it home.
There's just something eerily tranquil about the death of a flower where it doesn't change. The petals darkened in colour to a near black and the petals curl elegantly and harden.
It looks delicate yet is course to the touch.
I get poetic over roses. Yes, now you know.

Was eating noodles today...
...and I realized something people do.
I see people eat the noodles but they NEVER drink the soup.
Why?! D8 It's such a waste!

The reunion conclusion
Don't go to high school reunions unless you were well loved by everyone. It's not worth it. Just visit a friend's house instead.
The reunion part 2
So I get in via pure luck and the teacher whom I called tried to laugh off her phone mishap, and even dares to tell me to turn HER phone OFF SILENT.
The nerve.
So I go to my friend and huddle next to her trying to keep warm and she's the only reason I came there in the first place.
Other than that, who else did I speak to?
Uh...
No one.
Obviously, I had no other friends there. And who wants to talk to people we aren't particularly close to.
Well, there goes the next hour of my life which I can't get back.
My dear good friend...why did you let yourself get forced to go to this waste of time event.
The nerve.

The reunion part 1
There was a reunion not too long ago. I arrived late due to circumstances.
They locked the door 2 minutes before I arrived and left a sign with a number to call to get in.
I called.
Twice.
No one answered.
If it weren't for the kind lady that just happened to find me on her way out, I would've stood there for an hour in the cold and wind in formal wear.
Not a good way to go.

The Act of Sacrifice
I will probably get a lot of ridicule from my non-existent readers. But I'm gonna post this anyway. Why? Because I'm a cynical excuse for a human that doesn't give a fruk. Let's go.
I was thinking about life and death again while on the toilet and my lazy mind came across the topic of those who are praised for losing their life saving someone and those that are ridiculed for saving there own life while someone else dies.
For example, if there was a burning house and here were two people trapped, and only one came out, he/she would be ridiculed for not helping the other that was inside.
I frankly think that kind of response is stupid.
I'm not degrading people who do give up their lives to save people, I'm not trying to take away anything from them. But that kind of response for the total opposite is preposterous. There is nothing wrong with wanting to live.
I think people only condemn that kind of behaviour because deep down, we know we would do the same as them. We are all selfish by nature, and who cares about other people's lives. But having the same kind of behaviour is boring, so to make us feel better about ourselves, we ridicule others that would do the exact same, because we can't bear to confess ourselves just as 'wrong'.
I see those that risk their lives to save someone and then die as a result and they are labelled a hero, but then those that failed to save lives and survived are seen as cowards. What~?
Those that died, respect to you. Those that lived, thank you for trying.
That too much to ask?

One thing I can't do...
...Is associate to anything with rape in it.
So if there is a movie or a book or a cartoon or a news story that has rape or implied rape in it, I will physically remove myself from its vicinity as long as I can help it.
I won't talk about it, I won't hear about it, NOTHING.
Imagine how hard it is for me to listen slash read the news...

Speaking of university
I'm absolutely serious about this ok? No matter how absurd this post will be, I am drop dead serious.
From when I started to when I finished I generally use the same toilet cubicle each time. Always the second from the right.
I went there when nature called, I went there when I just wanted to be my self for a bit, I went there when I was feeling sick, I was there when the light fell, I watched the graffiti about some stranger's relationship fade to near nothing and I even ranted TO the toilet about things, be it school, work, or now no one can seem to keep the toilet clean.
I'm being honest when I say that cubicle will be one of the very few things I will miss about university. I had some rather good revelations and thoughts in that cubicle. It's almost like a third home.
Good bye cubicle.

It's almost over...
The year is almost over.
I'm nearly done with university.
I'm not sure if I'll be back here to study more but if I don't I just want to say something about it.
University is certainly an experience. Not exhilarating or exciting or even fun. Just an experience. I learnt things here and I met new people. I'll never forget some things that happened here.
I'm not saying I'll miss it here, but I'll remember it.

While STILL in this restaurant
In the same restaurant, I went to the toilet.
One the door was this graffiti:
U R Beautiful
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise
............
HGN!
THAT'S GORGEOUS!
My faith in humanity upped just a fraction.
WOOP!

A child at a table near me dropped her drink. I'm glad she didn't get injured from the resulting glass.
To make this post as weird as the rest and therefore normal, I found the sound of shattering glass oddly beautiful

When did I finally go insane?
I remember distinctly it was in Year 9. It's when I finally learnt that humans don't give a crap about each other.
So I stopped giving a crap too.

Stupid Human Body
Our bodies are actually very spoilt children that will throw a tantrum at the slightest thing that doesn't go its way.
Oh, you're eating lunch half an hour later than usual. LET ME GIVE YOU CRAMPS!
Oh, you decided not to take a shower today because you're tired and you want to save water? LET ME MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU TREADED THROUGH THE FRUKKIN SEWER!
Oh, you decided that because you're late for something you're going to put cream on later? LET ME MAKE YOUR SKIN THE FRUKKING SAHARA DESSERT!
Oh, you're a girl? PERIOD!
My body is just never happy! DX Make it stop!

Washing Machine...
Yes I haven't updated in ages. It's the holidays, what do you want from me?
My washing machine flooded yesterday. How was I suppose to know the crash was actually a potentially serious hint. Thankfully It was discovered before it flooded the house.
Such a first experience.

Acknowledging
I was hanging the laundry and I had another one of those deep moments whilst Australia's Got Talent was playing inside the house...
I feel as if judges do not acknowledge what other people do based on what they did. It doesn't matter if they put effort into doing it or they cannot do it themselves. If they do not personally like it, I feel as if they won't accept them.
To those of you that are going to argue with me about singing shows, music is a drug for the brain and if it's sung in tune, then anyone would get hooked. But shows like Australia's Got Talent? Stand up comedy? Competitive entertainment in general? Naaaah~
Stand Up Comedy is either mocking yourself or mocking others. Talent, in other people's opinion, is something flashy and absolutely absurd.
You're remaking my house for me? Doesn't matter that you lost 48 hours of sleep and had to deal with all my house problems, if it don't look good, I'm gonna put it down. (The Block)
Talent? Don't matter that you flew across the country and had to go through personal convictions just to walk onto the stage, if I don't like it, I'm gonna say you suck. (Australia's Got Talent)
And, oh my god, Biggest Loser. At first, you'd think the Biggest Loser was a motivational show for those that desire to lose weight. But then you remember. People. Get. Voted. Off. It isn't a motivational show. Nah, that only lasts about 5 minutes near the end. It's really a competitive show about who actually deserves to lose weight. You didn't lose enough weight? Hah! You're a lost cause. Get out, you ain't getting our help anymore.
FFFFFFFF- Stupid entertainment.

It's not your nationality that makes you a terrorist
I was watching Superwoman talk about the new Miss America and how people were slamming her for her dark skin, calling her a terrorist. I then, for some twisted reason, decided to read the comments. I thenr an across comments like "Not all Arabs are a terrorist" and such. I understand that the people who commented like that were trying to be positive and I concur with positivity but I feel like I need to recitify those kind of comments for something.
Such comments like "Not all Arabs are a terrorist", while I understand that you're trying to say not to make assumptions on Arab people or Indian people or where ever you come from, black, brown or white, it doesn't change the fact that you are still implying SOME people from that nationality are terrorists or such.
I don't believe that nationality makes a person a potential terrorists or such. When large groups of people that attack people come from the same country, that doesn't make that country or nationality a terrorist, that is just a coincidence. What makes a person a terrorist is their belief that hruting people for there beliefs are justified. A terrorist is a destructive selfish person that forces their ideals on other people under threat. It has nothing to do with where a person comes from or even what religion they follow. If they think that hurting other people is ok, that is a terrorist.
A terrorist has nothing to do with bombs and weapons. So let's not narrow this down to war, because I'm not going narrow this to large scale damage. Even seemingly smaller issues, bullying and abuse. I would label that an act of terrorism. The difference of awareness and publicity does not change teh outcome. You are hurting people.
Stop.

May they have a nice recovery
I saw the story about the Australians who returned from PNG after the slashing attack. Best wishes that they can recovery physically and mentally after the horrifying experience. No one deserves to witness that nor to experience that. regards to the two guides who died too.
...
Let's not forget this is the place we are sending our refugees. SEE AUSTRALIA! IT'S A BAD PLACE!
I never go about a post without being a cynical at least once.

Casual Post
Lots of school related posts today.... So here's a casual pointless one.
I always wanted to make tons of tetris pieces with paper via origami and troll someone by blocking a doorway with it.
It's in the making.

Why Use Blogs
I'm meant to talk about why major organisations would use blogs to create websites, and the pros and cons of it organisation wise, so the blog post Pros and Cons does not entirely relate here, although most of the points are probably the same as this could apply to anybody.
Well, starting with a blog would be good as blogs are free software and are easy to manage and learn, good for those with little budget or tight time management. In general, social media reaches out to people more efficiently that brochures and word of mouth these days, so breaking out on the internet is more likely to get noticed.
However, using a free web software also has its cons. As using blog software is free, other people and/or organisations also use it. There is probably around a million other users of blog software that your organisations must compete with to stand out the most and attract the most attention. Free software, despite their attempts, isn't the most secure. Hacking is a possibility since all one needs to get in is the username and password. Blog software lacks the flexibility of site-packing packs as they provide templates and layouts, and changing them to your tastes is difficult and rigid. And despite the freeness of usage, for any special features, if there are any extras at all, you would have to pay for those features, and sometimes those payments for features aren't permenant, but monthly or something or other.
In the end, it is really up to the user/organisation, if they are happy with what the blog has already provided for you.

Conflicted
This is a little late...
But this post is about the fate of Ariel Castro.
Now if there is something you should know about me, if you cared enough, is that I hate rapists.
Hate them.
Hate. Them.
HATE. THEM!
I frankly think they should die; and before you say anything, me thinking that is me being kind. If they remained alive in my presence, and I WASN'T allowed to kill them, they would suffer.
Suffer.
SUFFER!
So, I hear he only stayed in jail for a month, then apparently hung himself.
I haven't heard anything new about him. I find it so hard and difficult to read stories related to him.
I am feeling rather mixed at how this ended. I still personally think he deserved death, but I'm somewhat disappointed how little he repented, if he even did at all.
Little coward.
Just in case, no offence to the Castro family. I did read the first story with detail and members and friends didn't know he was holding three women captive. Comments like this must be hard for you. Sorry to be a part of the crowd.

Responsible Life
Talking to my younger sister about the responsibilities of being older.
Is very frustrating.
She said that wasting two dollars of left over food is nothing to be worried over.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
TWO DOLLARS!
I have fun in your life when you're older, dear sister=n= Don't come crying to me.

Attention Span
This post is about me. If you don't care, move along~.
It came to my attention my one flaw most people, people being my friends, noticed is that I apparently need to have things repeated to me. I'm not mad about it if one of you are reading this, so DON'T WORRY! I'm totally cool with it.
I love blunt honesty. I'd respect you more if you came up to me and told me you honestly despised me rather than act fake around me yet your disgust bleeds through.
ANIWAY! (I spelt it like that on purpose)
I'm going to try to make this not sound like an excuse, but if it does I'm sorry. Judge me how you will. Yes, I notice myself I probably annoy everyone with my repeated questions. But that is because even if I pay attention, or ATTEMPT to, the information comes in and slowly sifts out. I have to process the information over and over for me to register it properly. NO, I don't have anything mentally wrong with me (I think). It's just the way I am.
Back in school, I'd re-read the text book around TEN TIMES and even then, I'd ask my friend to then read the textbook out loud to me for me to simply register two paragraphs, especially if it's a class I am not particularly fond of (FRUKKING PHYSICS-!)
Excursion notes? I'd re-read it three times, give it my parents, and then they'd lecture me about the excursion note, so I'd remember the date of when it is and where I'm going?
Now that I am in university, it's not like high school anymore. It's all lectures. Audio. Word of mouth. I DON'T LIKE IT! I really CAN'T take any of it in! Unlike high school, where everything is in the work/text book, things in the book are extended my WORD OF MOUTH. Unlike high school where you get a note of excursions/trips where the time of start and end, date and place are stated, it's told VERBALLY to us!
NO!
I can't! I'm sorry that I am so annoying, my dear friends. I'm sorry I repeatedly ask you to repeat things to me. But it's just the way my brain works. I'm sorry I'm so dysfunctional.
Please treat me kindly. Q.Q

Anger and Disappointment
I realised while sleeping last night that there is a fine line of difference between the two.
Anger is where you feel rage and things not going your way.
Disappointment is where other people feel saddened that you aren't any better.
That's why when I'm preached to by my parents and teachers I don't really respond anymore. I already know what I am.
When it comes to anger, however, I get so emotionally agitated it becomes physically painful.
I always respond to the incorrect things...

Social Media Platforms- Pros and Cons
I hope you can put up with me.
School work requires me to post about the pros and cons of an organization posting on social media.
PROS-
School work requires me to post about the pros and cons of an organization posting on social media.
PROS-
- Helps increase publicity
- Informs a wider range of people
- Today's society is more online than when it comes to hand-to-hand communication.
- Unlike letters or any other solid form of communication, social media spreads a single message much faster.
- Cost can be much cheaper (depending on the program used)
- Updates could make it better
- Can be hacked by anyone due to lack of security
- Rules of social media to follow (e.g. character limit, picture size, etc)
- Updates that cause change can cause disruption
- Trolls
- There are many different types of social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc). It may be necessary to have many accounts to reach out to alot of people and managing them can be difficult and/or troublesome.

HEADPHONES
I HATE YOU. SO MUCH.
You know when one side of the headphone works yet the other doesn't and it constantly changed with every little tilt of the head?
You know that warning for epilepsy people when it comes to flashing lights? Is there a kind of epilepsy for ears when it changes sides rapidly. I feel like it's doing more damage to my ears than blaring rock music.

Human Rights
Around two months ago I remember hearing on 101.9 a debate on whether or not you would donate to Human or Animal Right charities. Which do you think is more important?
Personally, I think Human Rights deserves more attention, but not necessarily because I think we are more important. Animal Rights is to help animals that are strays, animals that wander our streets and are feral. Let's think back to why this is. Why are there so many animals on the street? Why are there so many animals wandering into our homes?
Because WE HUMANS took away their homes to build our own. WE HUMANS are the ones that abandon pets on the street after we get sick of them. WE HUMANS abuse animals. WE HUMANS are the reason we are suffering.
Let's then look at Human Rights. Why do people need saving? Because WE HUMANS injured them. All the rape and murder and abuse charges? Human caused. All the bombings and vandalism and arson? Human caused. Hate crimes? Human caused. Corruption? Human caused.
As far as I know, everything is GOD DAMN HUMAN CAUSED.
Humans need more attention than Animal Rights, because it is truly us that needs work to improve.
I'm so cynical. Sorry that this is my view on the world.

Public Library Advice on making websites
Why? Just why?
---
A good first place to start when making a website is to ask patrons of what they think on the current website first. Listen to their criticism, what they expected and what they want to be added or removed or altered about the current website to get a vague idea of what they want. After all you are making a website that customers can use; increasing publicity is a secondary goal. You can make a informative website but if patrons can't use it, there is no point.
After getting ideas of what to add in the website, you then need to learn how to make one. This can be suggested templates and/or tutorials.
Here are some good websites that give informative tips/templates on what a library website should have:

Here are some good websites that give informative tips/templates on what a library website should have:
- OLIS website standards - OLIS talks about what a library website should have in each page (e.g. Home, About, Services. Etc). They also includes helpful tips at the bottom. OLIS is very simplistic, using dot points, so it is easy to understand and quick to read.
- 7 Essential Elements - Written by David Lee King, it talks about what are 7 things a library website should do or have to be successful. Leans more towards tips and service than format
Here are some programs/websites to actually make the website:
- Simple Sites - Simple and free, not recommended to make the official website, but it's a good place to practice on formating and testing out on whether everything a patron could need is accounted for amongst staff.
- Drupal - Used by most other public libraries, Drupal is free and open-sourced, meaning you can add your own resources to it should what is already being offered isn't sufficient to you. Drupal also has a security team which can ensure that your website can stay safe and secure. For more information click the link and check the Abouttab in the top right corner.

Important features a library website must have, in my opinion
Not criticising. Just working.
---
A catalogue would be a good start. A library wouldn't be able to function without a catalogue that patrons can access at home. Also, without a catalogue, patrons wouldn't be able to accurate browse quickly and efficiently nor be informed or whether the library has a certain item in stock or if they even have it at all.
An FAQ or contact details to a member of staff or the manager, preferably on the home page. Due to all the comparative essays I've had to write this term, which resulted in me having to analyse many library websites, I notice that the FAQs can be situated in the most bizarre places. Contact details should be repeated throughout every page.
A search bar. Self explanatory.
The library website should have an option to change the language for those of foreign background.
The rules of the library should have it's own segment on the website. I have analysed that aside from fines and fees, there are no other rules. For example, no eating or talking loudly, not devices, etc. maybe this may be common sense. But it should be a formality to have it there.
Locations and times. I don't think I need to explain this.
A calender of events. Preferably a calender compared to a blog as you have to search posts.
That's it for now~~~~.

Why there no Charlie Duskin in FF.net
So me post here instead. Enjoy the longest post ever. This was a project I had to do in Yr 9, to change the ending of the novel I was studying. It's not as good as the original but nothing is ever as good as the original.

Charlie
As I slammed the boot of my car,
preparing to leave, I look up to see a lone figure walking towards me, slow and
small in the distance. The figure stops within metres of Dad’s car, looking
hesitant and near scared to come any closer. But I guess she would be. The
temptation of a car, my car, leaving would be too much for Rosie.
“Dad, can I have a minute?” Dad
pokes his head out the car window, gazing down at Rosie, who stands there looking
apologetically at me. For a moment, I wonder if he’d say no, after what she
did. But he doesn’t. He knows what regret feels like. It’s a sad painful song
and he doesn’t want anyone else singing it too.
“Sure.” He replies, sitting back
in his chair. “Make sure to work everything out.” I smile and give him a quick
kiss before turning and walking towards Rosie. I vaguely think about how ironic
all this was now. Before it was I, standing afar wanting to come closer. Now
the roles have reversed.
“Hey.” I say when I reached
Rosie. She looks up and manages a smile.
“Hi.” She replies. We stand there
for a moment, just relishing the moment and its circumstances, everything that
happened. Then Rosie attempts to put on a brave face, and looks directly at me.
Serious. “Mum says I can’t go.” Rosie holds eye contact, and I could see the
strain. She wants to let me know she isn’t trying to guilt trip me. She isn’t
trying to change my mind. I understood. But before I could stop myself, I had
said it.
“I’m sorry.” Rosie stares at me
for a small moment, then smiles almost bitterly at herself. She knows why I
said it. I don’t want her to think this is unfair. I don’t want to leave her
feeling like she’s being left behind.
“Don’t be.” She whispers. Then
the song breaks into a crescendo and she bursts into tears. It’s a song not of
abandonment nor repression, she really does love her home, but of longing. I
hug her as she cried, and I can hear and feel just how much she wanted to go. She clings onto me and I can hear the apologies in her sobs. A sad rhythm makes me
cry too.
After a while, she regains her
composure and steps back, wiping her eyes.
“Is it so bad to wait a few more
years?” I ask. “It’s the wait that makes it worth it.” She manages a little
laugh and smiles. Already her melody is shifting. Not completely and not by
much, but enough for me to know she’ll be ok after a while once I leave.
“I guess so.” She answers,
sounding uncertain for a moment. Then she looks at me, eyes bright. “I mean, I
waited for you, didn’t I?” She softens and she looks like how she did before
all her lies came out. It was a real smile after all. “You were definitely
worth the wait. I guess I just didn’t realise I was waiting for us to become
friends.” Again, that word. But this time, I can take them and hold them close.
I feel I should do something back.
“I can’t take you with me.”I say.
“But I can make the wait a little easier. Can you wait a little while longer
for me?” She does a little sigh, as if she’s tired. She probably is, and I
worry I’m asking for too much. But then she resigns herself and smiles at me.
“Sure.” She says. “I’ll wait.”
It’s a nice thing being given someone’s trust. It’s like being given the bow to
a violin or cello. You can’t do a thing with it without the bow.
When we part and I get into the
car, I turn to Dad.
“Hey, can we stop by the beach
for a little bit?”
Rosie
A month later...
I sit in my room staring at the
calendar, at the number of crosses from the date that was circled. Nearly
thirty crosses. Nearly a month since she left.
Still, nothing.
I wonder what’s taking Charlie so
long. I don’t even know what she was going to do to make the wait better. It
can’t be that she had forgotten...
Of course not. It’s Charlie
Duskin. She wouldn’t forget.
I stare out at the backyard, at
the grass bathed in the golden afternoon sun. It’s times like these I hear
Charlie sitting out at the porch of her house, plucking notes on her guitar. I
never thought she’d be able to sing as
amazingly as she did at the concert. But that’s Charlie, surprising people.
Thinking that I strengthen my
resolve to wait for her. It’s Charlie. She surprises and she doesn’t
disappoint.
There is a sudden knock on my
door and Mum pokes her head through, and an arm holding a lumpy package the
size of the palm of her hand.
“It’s for you Rosie.” She says,
laying the parcel on the desk. I get up and look it over when she leaves. It
has a strange scent, like salt, and makes a soft rustling noise as I turn it
over, like sand against paper. I undo the paper carefully without ripping it
and gape at what was inside. It was a beautiful conch shell, polished so that
the light reflected off the creamy white and black swirls, the inside a
gorgeous gleaming pink. Charlie didn’t bother to clean the shell of sand, which
littered the inside of the brown paper, the lingering scent of salty water
wafting around my senses.
I’ve bet you’ve been to the ocean. I want to go there, somewhere that
leads places.
I smile. Like I thought, she
surprises and doesn’t disappoint. She remembered.
There was a note underneath all
the sand, I carefully dust it off, thinking to keep the sand in a little
bottle.
Dear Rosie,
I’m so sorry I took so long. I didn’t forget you at all. It was
difficult to find a good shell. You wanted to see the ocean, but I can’t bring
the ocean to you. So I’ll bring you a piece of it. When you come to the city,
let’s go and see it together.
Charlie
P.S. I bet you know what to do with the shell next right?
I place the note down carefully
and pick up the shell, emptying whatever sand was left inside. I then take the
shell and put it to my ear. For a moment, there was nothing.
Then, like
Charlie’s song, soft and sweet, a gentle sound started deep within the shell.
It came to and fro, with a soft crashing. The sound of waves. As I closed my
eyes, the smell of the sea was stronger around the shell, enveloping me. For a
moment, I could actually believe I was at the ocean, the soft sand under my
feet, and Charlie right next to me.
“Rosie! Lunch!” Mum’s voice
snapped me out of my reverie. I put the shell down next to Charlie’s note.
Let’s go and see it together.
“I’ll hold onto you on that,
Charlie.”I whisper, feeling myself smile, and I go down to my family to eat
lunch.

Gangster Movies- The Sequel
Was watching a let's player who swears alot because he plays alot of horror games. Was told what i watch was absolute trash and that I learn nothing from it.
OH I'M SORRY. LET ME REMIND YOU OF ALL THE MOVIES YOU WATCH THAT SCREWS HUMANITY AND CONTINUED TO BECOME BLOCKBUSTERS.

Gangster Movies
I was forced to watch a gangster movie because it was kind of in my face. I was talking to my younger sister about the absolute predictability and immorality that piece of trash was. It was all friends kill each other, women are out to get you, all about power and let's drag innocent people into this fight that has nothing to do with them.
I was told to shush.
OH I'M SORRY. WHO'S THE ONE THAT VIEWS ALL THAT AS ENTERTAINMENT.

Singers
I was thinking about singers while I was hanging the laundry and I realised...
Most singers generally sound the same.
Not that I'm disregarding talent, but it's just it seems a person only notices how good you sing once you put a microphone in front of their mouth.

Beiber Haters
Was watching youtubers react to Justin Beiber and they mentioned haters. I feel like they are not detailed enough about it. Let me try to enlilghten you on the types of haters Beiber has.
Back when he was young and before puberty I feel like his haters were split into three groups.
The first group are the ones that do because they don't think he sings good. I call them the critics, and I'm actually proud of myself for being part of this group. They don't care for the person and what they do, but what they do isn't something that tickles their fancy. I am a critic because when I first listened to Justin Beiber I thought he was a Pussycat Doll. He's a lot better now.
The next group is called the Jealous and I think this group is pretty self explanatory. As the youtubers said, they hate him because they wish they were in his position, able to have the stardom and get the bi-
Next.
Final group are called the Trolls. These are the people that hate him because they can. This group is then split into two factions. There are the ones that hate him to seem different. They act intelligent, but really they probably barely even heard his song and hate him because they think they can hide under the majority of the rest of his haters. Then there are those that hate him because others hate him. Either it be to look hip or because of word of mouth.
These days, now that Beiber is older, there is a fourth group of haters. I call them the Justified, because they hate Beiber because he apprently became a douche bag. I never really heard anything about his personal life nor do I care. This group hate him based on what he does in his personal life and how he treats his fans.
I don't care. I just want Beiber to do his job.
And that's the four types of Beiber haters there are in the world. Which are you?

Good Libraries, website-wise
...Gah~ I don't get out much...I don't know many libraries. Well, in order how how I rate them.
Hobsons Bay Library- I never went there but the website its pretty decent, but it's main highlight is its wonderful catalogue.
Maribyrnong Library- I've been to this library once or thrice, so I'll take the website with a grain of salt. I gave it a quick skim and it looks VERY informative and trhe catalogue doesn't open a separate window. Very close rival to Hobsons Bay.
Victoria University Library- I should add my own school library. It's alright and the catalogue is nice as most of the material is online. But it ranks third. I gave it a bit of special treatment.
Brimbank Library- This one goes fourth. The website is TERRIBLE but the catalogue is good. But not enough to make up for the lack of informative stuff on it. Or maybe it's just me.
National Women's Library- Last. The catalogue is brief and the website just brushes the line. However, I put it up here because it's rather easy to use.
Oh god I actually found five. Bless me

About all these posts in one day
I realize I'm kinda spamming at the moment. I think I posted around 6 today. But an error on other computers prevents me from typing in the type box so I kept all these thoughts on hold until now. Sorry to let it all spill out.

More pointless self crap
Yesterday temperature passed 40 degrees, splitting headache, sore throat and could barely walk straight and yet I'm at school today.
Like a boss.
Is there anything drugs can't fix?

I'm Not Martin
I remember reading a story called that 3 years ago. Basically, a kid who went to hospital to have his tonsils removed or something like that meets a kid called Martin who needs to have his foot amputated. Martin is constantly screaming that he ISN'T Martin. This kid tries to be nice to Martin, asking him what he likes, but Martin keeps saying "I don't like this, Martin does". That night, Martin switched the hospital records with the kid. The nurses and doctors go to operate on the wrong kid. The kid screams he isn't Martin but they don't believe him.
I was thinking about that story yesterday, and I wished they made an epilogue where the hospital gets sued for damages and Martin gets convicted for fraud/identity theft. Best. Ending. Ever.

Social Media
Gotta post about my favourite social media. I'm still not sure exactly what that is. A website? A program? Gah~...The specifics...
Well, program wise, MSN was the love of my live. Mostly to roleplay (a kind of text based creative game for those that don't know what it is). I'd be on it for 6 hours and forget to eat, so absorbed in the fictional worlds me and my friend create. I still do it to this day, our own little world getting bigger and bigger each time. MSn, however, has merged with Skype and faded from existance. Skype is now my favourite, partly because there is no other choice, but it's not so bad.
Website wise, I never had a favourite. I visit a couple of sites but none catches myf ancy for long. DeviantArt was a love of mine, but life just gets too busy for me to upload much. Fanfiction.net...is that a social media? Ugh~ screw my idiocy. But if that is, that is something I've had bad personal ties with, but I've got a decent obsession with.
...Is that all I gotta do?... Well, buh bye then.
A/N: Forgot the link.

Selfishness and selflessness
I've learnt in life that deep down, we are all selfish by nature. It's part of who we are and there is nothing we can do it change it. No matter how we act or what we do, deep down, we all like to think of ourselves first.
The point is, there is nothing necessarily wrong with that. Some actions that result from it are wrong, lawfully and morally, but acknowledging you are selfish isn't as sinful as people make it out to be, ad is even quite brave. Everyone wants to live. I respect it.
Selfless people are just the people with the strength to overcome that selfish nature, which is an admirable feat as well. To turn away from your own need to focus on other people is pretty good too.
I admire those people with strength. I wish I had a little of that strength too.

Hands
My hands do everything for me. They help me get dressed, eat, do work, help people, make things, and plain enjoy life.
If I lost even just one, I'd rather die. I'd be even less sad losing a leg.

Damn World...
You know that feeling you get when you shouldn't be surprised but you are anyway?
Yeah. The world is constantly like that to me...
Just when I thought it couldn't get any more worse...

Jumpscares
Epic version of jumpscares:
Having a monster appear illogically out of nowhere and tear out your innards and nibble at your flesh.
My version of a jumpscare:
Reading a book, minding my own business, when an ant suddenly crawls across the page.
Now that's quality
