That One Extra Letter

When you tell someone you love them, I find it is much more impactful if you add the 'I'. You can casually say 'Love you' to anyone, but it is easy to not take it seriously. It seems aimless. But, them you add the 'I', and you take responsibility. It comes directly from you and you can't take it back. And that's ok, because you want them to notice it is to them from you.

When I tell someone that I love them, in any sort of implication, I often have trouble saying those three words, often opting for the two. It takes a lot out of me to add the 'I' on the front. It gets stuck in my throat and left behind. To me, it takes a great deal of trust and/or care for me to push that one extra syllable out.

Most people don't notice it, this effort. It's just a standard sign of affection. To me it isn't. To me, it is the same as making a promise. I am giving you my word, and my trust and affection. And for an immovable emotionless person like me, that is a big thing to give.

This is just a personal thing I thought about during RPs. Wondering if anyone else is like this too.
